Spring Flowers Across the East Coast

By: Grace Brogioli

On the East Coast, spring is beautiful. It can be seen as a time of rebirth. Nature is transitioning in the spring from being quite dull to the colors coming back and blossoming. The flowers are blooming, the trees are budding, the grass is greener, the weather is warmer, and spring is truly amazing here on the East Coast.

In the month of April, here in New England, a lot of tulips and daffodils are starting to bloom. Daffodils are one of the most prominent flowers we see across the East Coast and even symbolize what people characterize as the essence of spring. Daffodils represent new beginnings and rebirth. On the other hand, tulips which are not even native to the East Coast, have been returning year after year. These flowers represent unconditional love. Tulips are a great gift to give to someone you love . This could be your partner, friends, or family.

With flowers blooming all over the East Coast during the spring season, there are many festivals that take place. For instance, there are festivals that take place in New England to showcase many different types of flowers. Nantucket has their Daffodil Festival at the end of April. Meanwhile, in Fairfield CT, the town holds their DogWood Festival during mid-May. When flowers are blooming in the spring, many towns and places are using this as a time to bring the community together. You not only get to connect with nature but you get to connect with your family and friends as well.
