This goes without saying, but running sneakers are the most critical clothing item you can wear to run in any climate. Proper running sneakers help align your body and reduce the chance of tears or serious injuries. Some well-renowned running sneaker brands are Asics, Saucony, and New Balance.

In order to stay hydrated on your run, it is important to keep water near you, or—in the case of long-distance runs—on you. Keep in mind that when drinking water, it is smart to take small sips in order to reduce the chances of cramps. Small sips of water before, during, and after you run long distances are essential to keep you hydrated.

When running longer distances, it can be extremely useful to keep a lightweight running belt or fanny pack on you. You can pack your running snacks, your phone, and chapstick. The options are your choice!

During long-distance runs that stretch to be either a marathon or half-marathon, running snacks can be essential to maintaining balanced nutrients in your body. Most runners find it beneficial to pack carbohydrates and sugars for their runs. Typically, bananas, dates, and pretzels serve as great carbohydrate snacks. In terms of sugars, frozen grapes, marshmallows, and raisins make great energizing sugar snacks. Remember, only consume small portions of food during your run.

Listening to music while running helps to distract your mind from whatever pain or fatigue you might be feeling on your run. Studies have shown that listening to music while running helps to increase endurance, motivation, and metabolic activity. If you’re feeling creative, make a run playlist on your music app of choice in order to power you through your next run!
We hope you enjoyed this guide on what to bring on your next run. Happy running, everyone!
