Your Guide to Holiday Fashion!

By: Danielle Wass

It’s hard to believe the holiday season is already here and 2023 is coming to a close. While you may have already finished your holiday shopping, there’s still time to put together the perfect outfit for the holidays! No matter what your plans are for Christmas or New Years, it’s always fun to get dressed up for the festivities!

The Christmas season is the perfect time to embrace the holiday spirit and wear festive colors like red and green! If these bold colors are out of your comfort zone, there are plenty of muted options such as burgundy or forest green. These are more neutral options that still give the same holiday vibe.

A sweater is a great base for an outfit for any holiday activity. If you’re spending the day opening presents and watching Christmas movies, a sweater and cozy pants are a comfortable option. If you want to get more dressed up, try pairing a sweater with a skirt and tights. This is a trending outfit right now and there are plenty of ways to cater it to your own style. My current favorite style of sweater is off-the-shoulder. For the skirt, a leather skirt is a great way to add a new texture to the outfit. You can also get tights that have a pattern such as polka dots to add more texture. Your choice of shoes can also enhance this outfit. I love the look of high black boots or low black booties with a skirt.

Another popular trend right now is bows. Hair bows are the perfect accessory that can also contribute to the holiday vibe of an outfit. You can also hop on the bow trend by wearing jewelry that features bows! These bow earrings from Amazon are perfect for the holiday season!

When discussing holiday fashion we can’t forget about New Years! New Year’s Eve is all about sparkles, so you might as well lean into it! Mesh tops are super trendy right now. A sparkly mesh top paired with a bralette underneath is a great option if you’re going out. This would also pair well with tights and a skirt or leather pants.

Whatever your plans are for the holidays, make sure you’re comfortable wearing what you choose! Happy holidays, EastCoasters!
