Connecticut pumpkin patches to visit this fall

By: Sarah Ball

You can’t say that the fall season has officially started until after your first visit to a pumpkin patch. Everything including picking out a cute fall outfit, navigating a corn maze, drinking a fresh apple cider, and scavenging the patch for the perfect pumpkin makes this whole experience everything fall should be. Living and going to school in New England, I have been to a fair share of pumpkin patches and I am here to share some of the best hidden gems I have found in the Connecticut area.

1. Silverman’s Farm

Easton, Connecticut

Silverman’s Farm is the place to go for those who are trying to get in the fall spirit and also for animal lovers. I love visiting Silverman’s to admire their large collection of pumpkins. I also can’t leave without purchasing a cheap bag of food to feed all of the animals (ranging from cows, goats, to bunnies…etc). Participating in fall activities is already good for the soul, but animal therapy is unmatched (especially for college students during midterm season)!

2. Plasko’s Farm

Trumbull, Connecticut

Plasko’s is the ideal spot for the fall and is equipped with many other activities to ensure you are never bored while there. Known for its cafe and creamery, you can browse its rustic interior for a treat that will without a doubt be able to elevate your experience when wandering around the farm and the pumpkin patch. There is also the option to do a corn maze, which is a definite appeal to the competitive crowd.

3. Pumpkinseed Hill Farm of Jones Family Farms

Shelton, Connecticut

To finish off the list, Pumpkinseed Hill Farm has mastered its pumpkin patch and definitely has the best selection to choose from if finding the perfect pumpkin is your main priority. Ranging from all different sizes and colors, it is impossible to visit this farm without finding the perfect pumpkin to fulfill any of your fall needs.

Be sure to enjoy the fall ambiance and visit a pumpkin patch near you this fall!
